The Original Apple Airport Card

Released to much acclaim in 1999, the apple Airport card is the defacto wireless networking card for the mac, allowing portability for apple laptops from the original iBook to the Powerbook G4. Supported models include:

• iBook Clamshell
• iMac G3 (slot loading) with riser card
• Powerbook Pismo
• Powerbook G4 range
• Powermac G4 desktop Tower range

The macs were fitted with a wire antenna and internal slot, very similar to a Type 2 card slot, allowing easy addition of wireless netwroking internally to the mac.
